American Dental Association Community Dentistry Award
The ADA presented its highest honor to DHA in 2007. The award is given to an organization that makes the most significant impact on improving community oral health. Previous winners were the Ben Massell Dental Clinic of Atlanta, GA, and the Harvard School of Dental Medicine's Project Bridge.

SMILES Program named National Model in Washington, D.C. by Pew Partnership
As the result of a two year research project, SMILES was named a National Model for its ability to improve access to care and reduce tooth decay with a simple and cost effective program.

American Dental Association Award for Meritorious Service in Community Preventive Dentistry
Awarded to us in 2000 by the American Dental Association. The judges stated that they "were impressed with the scope of the project and dedication to promoting oral health as a necessary component of comprehensive health care services."
